В статье рассмотрена уникальная боевая маска-личина, хранящаяся в Музее искусств Метрополитен (г. Нью-Йорк, США). Маска выполнена из железа и снабжена медным бортиком по периметру. На основании типологического анализа и сопоставления с изобразительными источниками она датирована XIV – началом XV в. и соотнесена с комплексом вооружения воинов Монголии или Китая эпохи поздней Юань – ранней Мин.
The article dwells upon the unique mask kept in the Metropolitan Museum of Art (New York City, USA). The mask is made of iron and is provided with a copper perimeter-border. According to the typological analysis and to the comparison with pictorial sources it dates back to the 14th – the beginning of the 15th century and it is correlated with the armoury complex of the warriors from Mongolia and the China of the Late Yuan Dynasty – the Early Ming Dynasty period.
