The relation between sperm morphology and other semen parameters, as well as with anthropometric characteristics has been investigated in a group of men volunteers (n = 128) in Novosibirsk city, Russia. Counting the sperm anomalies has been performed by the strict criteria of Kruger after staining of ejaculate smears by Diff-Quik (WHO, 2001). Significant differences were found between a group of men with teratospermia and the control. It has been established that teratospermia was associated with a decrease in the total sperm number in the ejaculate, sperm concentration, percentage of motile and morphologically normal sperm, and also in testicular volume. Differences were not established in age, height, body weight and BMI between groups. Morphological sperm defects, which were significantly more frequent in men with teratospermia are associated with a head and middle peace, a head and tail, a head, middle peace and tail, but specific type of abnormalities were a large, small, needlelike head, a head with a missing or abnormal acrosome, a bowed head, a short and curled tail.
