The article is based on the empirical data received during sociological research in the Krasnoyarsk, Irkutsk and Novosibirsk centers of SB RAS. It contains an analysis of the mechanism of research funding of the academic institutes, the situation with personnel and ways of its optimization, as well as the problem of balancing fundamental and applied research, the principles and practical methodologies of measuring the efficiency and quality of research - both of the individual scientist and the laboratories and institutes. The conclusion is that academic science has learnt to work in the market conditions, has acquired the experience of fast and successful adaptation to the changing conditions of its activity.
В статье на основе эмпирических данных, полученных в ходе социологического исследования в Красноярском, Иркутском и Новосибирском научных центрах СО РАН, проведен анализ специфики финансирования исследований в академических НИУ, кадровой ситуации и способов ее оптимизации, проблемы соотношения фундаментальных и прикладных исследований, принципов и практических методик измерения продуктивности и качества научной деятельности как отдельного ученого, так и целых лабораторий и институтов. Сделан вывод, что академическая наука научилась работать в рыночных условиях, наработала опыт быстрой и успешной адаптации к меняющимся условиям деятельности.
