The paper presents the hypothesis according to which the effect of pseudo-modernization depends on the dynamics of processes among the society’s elites. The author uses the notion of «the coalition of applicants» to explain selectivity of pseudo-modernization. The study results in a model containing factors which are important for the emergence of the pseudo-modernization effect. This model explains the cyclic dynamics of the transformation of the countries of the modernization «second echelon».
В настоящей статье предложена гипотеза зависимости эффекта псевдомодернизации от динамики процессов внутри элит общества. Посредством представления о «коалиции претендентов» автор объясняет выборочный характер псевдомодернизации. Как результат, предложена модель, в которой есть факторы, важные для возникновения эффекта псевдомодернизации. Эта модель объясняет циклическую динамику преобразования стран «второго эшелона» модернизации.
