The processes of conceptualization and reconceptualization of spatial relations reflected in the deadjectival phrasal verbs are analyzed in the article. ‘Reconceptualization’ refers to the process of restructuring knowledge about spatial relations. The usage of spatial particles in literal and metaphorical meanings gives information about the way people conceptualize some cognitive domains.
